IDX-Powered Dynamic Sitemap
What is a Sitemap?
A sitemap is a file where you provide information about the pages, videos, and other files on your site, and the relationships between them. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot read this file to more intelligently crawl your site and to index your site pages.
Sitemap is a web-accessible file in XML format designed for search engines, allowing them to find the data faster and more efficiently. The file lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL, such as when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site.
Is Sitemap required?
If your site’s pages are properly linked, search engine web crawlers can discover and crawl most of your site pages without the sitemap. However, if your site is really large, it’s more likely search engine web crawlers might overlook crawling some of your new or recently updated pages.
Typically, a real estate website has hundreds of static pages with articles, agent’s bio, portfolio, community pages, etc. plus as many pages as number of listings in the IDX/MLS system connected to that website. For example, if you are in Orlando, FL area, your website can have over 60,000 pages. If you are in Southern California (CRMLS), your website will go well over 100,000 pages. Listing pages come and go as properties go off market.
